Dream Machine

Dream Machine is an experience you take in with your eyes shut. Strobe light and a score by Jon Hopkins work on your closed eyelids until your own mind generates the colour, so no two journeys are ever the same. Developed by Assemble, it was a strange thing to advertise: how do you sell something nobody can actually see? Created alongside photographer Tom Andrew, we made a set of bespoke artworks that capture the feeling rather than the thing. They run across advertising, wayfinding and inside the installation itself.
